MARC BY MARC JACOBS NEW YORK This shop, directly adjacent to the store at 403 Bleecker and connected at the rear of the space, is intended to be both a distinct, separate shop from the men's store and part of the Marc Jacobs' brand established by the other two Bleecker Street stores. The long narrow space of the building allowed the design of the store to work as an antidote to the symmetrical, square space next door. A display counter lines the east side of the space with rolling racks arranged against the opposite wall. The store widens at the rear and becomes more private and intimate. A seating area dominates this backspace and draws the shopper deep into the store. Fitting rooms, concealed behind a walnut-paneled wall, and an oversized polished stainless steel are located in this area as well. |
